Formatting for Word documents
Keep the manuscript you already wrote. The research paper workflow is being built around existing DOCX files rather than a replacement template.
TypesetOS is preparing a research paper workflow for existing Word documents and supported academic styles. We are keeping it closed until the formatting behavior is independently qualified rather than launching with incomplete claims.
Built for academic papers, not generic documents
The research paper product is being shaped around the same principle as the thesis formatter: automate repeatable formatting, preserve authored content, and be explicit about anything the engine does not support yet.

Body typography, page geometry, headings, running heads and reference list layout are handled from the selected academic style where support is verified.
Authored text and fragile Word structures stay behind the same preservation checks used by the thesis formatter.
APA, MLA, Chicago, Turabian, APSA and other supported academic styles can be opened progressively after qualification.
IEEE, ACM, Springer and other publisher layouts that use multiple columns require dedicated support and are not part of the first research paper release.
Thesis formatting is the launch product
Use the thesis and dissertation workflow now. Research paper formatting will open after its own qualification pass.
