ProQuest Dissertation Formatting Checklist
Dissertation requirements can come from more than one source. Your university may impose its own rules in addition to repository or publishing requirements. Verify all numeric requirements against the current instructions that apply to you.
1. Reconcile the applicable checklists
Create one list covering page size, margins, fonts, pagination, title-page treatment, file format, and export requirements.
If sources differ, follow the rule your graduate school says governs the submission.
2. Measure geometry instead of judging it by eye
Review all four Word margin values and any separate gutter setting.
Check header, footer, and page-number positions separately when your instructions specify their distance from the page edge.
3. Inspect the exported file
If the final submission is a PDF, review that exported PDF rather than assuming it is identical to the Word editing view.
If your workflow requires font embedding or another validation step, verify it with the current submission instructions or validation tools.
4. Treat presets as configurations, not approval guarantees
TypesetOS includes a ProQuest-oriented preset among its available options.
The preset is a product configuration. Compare the final result with the current ProQuest and graduate-school instructions before filing.
Try a supported formatting preset on your DOCX
Upload a thesis DOCX, choose a currently available preset, and inspect the rendered result before deciding whether to unlock the final Word file.
